The Carlton is a basic hotel yes, but it's outstanding value. My room was perfectly clean, my bed was comfortable. It's so close to Kings Cross station is literally a 1 minute walk. If you need a safe, cheap and clean place to stay this place is a good pick.

Excellent location for London travel I stayed at Carlton Hotel near King’s Cross for two nights and really appreciated how close it is to the train and underground stations — just a 1-minute walk! The room was basic but clean, with everything I needed: comfortable bed, hot shower, tea/coffee facilities, and good Wi-Fi. Staff were polite and helpful. It’s perfect for short stays or if you need easy access to transport. Great value for central London!

Small rooms, comfy bed, small bathroom great shower. Private, clean, great location for train stations to UK travel or Europe trains. A bargain for under 50 pound.

A basic hotel whose main advantage is its location near the train station. The rooms are not large, nor are the bathrooms, and they often have only one small window: we visited in July and found it very hot; the room was like an oven. The window was located just above the heat pumps of the neighboring building, so it was quite noisy, even at night... Other than that, the room was clean and the mattresses were quite comfortable. The staff are friendly, and you can leave your luggage on arrival or departure. Un hôtel basique avec un accueil sympathique, bien pour un week-end mais pas pour une semaine.

City Stay Opposite King’s Cross What a fantastic stay! The location couldn’t be better — right opposite King’s Cross, in the heart of the city. The buzz and energy of the area made the experience even more enjoyable, and everything I wanted to see was so easy to get to, whether walking or hopping on public transport. The hotel itself was a calm, clean, and comfortable haven in the middle of the busy city. Rooms were spotless, beds extremely comfortable, and the atmosphere welcoming. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. If you’re looking for the perfect base to explore London while enjoying comfort, cleanliness, and great service, this is it. Highly recommended

This is not a flash hotel, and if you can handle the general noises of other people living in close proximity to you then it’s fine. I booked this for two nights when every other hotel in London was £900 for two nights this was £440. My room was in the anex bit a few doors down from the front door. The shower was great, and the sheets were changed, if you need to just get your head down, it’s perfectly fine.

There’s no doubt this is a two star hotel, but it’s still very pleasant! What they lack in modernity they make up for in cleanliness. I was sincerely impressed with how clean it was — not a single spec of dust my room.
